Ask what it towed, not just how far it went
A truck with 80,000 gentle miles is worth more than one with 50,000 spent hauling at capacity. Frame, hitch wear and transmission condition are inspected and photographed on every truck we list, because the odometer alone will not tell you this.
4WD or 2WD
Four-wheel drive costs more to buy, more to fuel and more to service. If you need it twice a winter, a set of proper winter tyres on a 2WD truck often does the job for less than the price difference.
Bed and cab, in that order
Decide the bed length by what you actually carry, then pick the cab. Buyers who choose the cab first almost always end up with a bed too short for the one job they bought the truck to do.
